Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of large steam turbines in North America. You will perform hands-on construction, alignment and pre-commissioning tests at customer sites, coordinating with project managers and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering background, 3+ years in rotating equipment field service, and strong technical communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years in a field service role with installation/commissioning of rotating equipment, preferably steam turbines.
• Excellent technical communication (verbal/written).
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical and electrical construction of large steam turbines and auxiliary systems at new unit sites.
• Perform precision alignment, installation verification and pre-commissioning testing.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in the field.
• Ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are met.
• Collaborate with project managers, customers and subcontractors to support schedules and site coordination.
• Prepare and maintain daily logs, reports and issue-tracking documentation.
• Communicate status, risks and solutions to internal teams and customers.
• Support commissioning, start-up and handover activities.
