Job summary

Bering Straits Professional Services, LLC in North Carolina seeks a Site Safety and Health Officer to oversee safety for USACE projects at the Springs Lakes, NC area. You will implement the Accident Prevention Plan and Site Safety and Health Plan, conduct daily site inspections, and lead safety briefings.

The role requires OSHA 30-hour, EM 385-1-1 knowledge, ability to stop work, and travel to project sites; strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated Site Safety and Health Officer for assigned USACE projects.
• Implement and administer the project Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP).
• Maintain a regular presence at the project site and monitor safety compliance.
• Conduct daily safety inspections of work areas, equipment, tools, materials, and work practices.
• Identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Exercise stop-work authority when imminent danger or safety deficiencies are identified.
• Review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for adequacy and ensure communication and implementation.
• Coordinate required safety meetings and trainings and maintain records.
