Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Solar Technician I for our Kuna, ID site. You will perform maintenance and operations on utility-scale PV solar plants, including inverters, trackers, and electrical systems. Travel to sites may be required and safety training is provided.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma, PV O&M or power plant experience, and a strong safety mindset. A company vehicle and gas card are provided for commuting, with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• PV O&M experience (1+ year) or power plant experience (3+ years) preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical fundamentals and safety practices.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on PV solar sites and substations.
• Conduct electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation calibration, and inverter maintenance.
• Coordinate with supervisors and manage work orders in the maintenance system.
• Follow LOTO, safety procedures, and environmental requirements.
