State of South Carolina is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist with routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and engines across state facilities. You will help with transmissions, preventive maintenance, and electrical troubleshooting using diagnostic tools and manuals.

The role requires at least six months of related experience or an equivalent substitute and a valid operator's license with potential CDL training within six months.

Formación

• Six months of work experience directly related to the area of employment.
• Completion of one academic year of a SC High School Automotive Technology or Diesel Engine curriculum may substitute for six months of related experience.

Responsabilidades

• Assist mechanics in routine maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment and engines.
• Assist with repairs to automatic and standard transmissions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on state equipment (SCDOT Key Series 001–011).
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and use diagnostic equipment and manuals.
• Attend training programs as set by SCDOT and supervisor.
• Check fluid levels and perform minor repairs on simple equipment.
• Assist with brake, exhaust, muffler, and fuel system repairs as needed.
• Support shop operations during emergencies and keep the shop orderly.
