Job summary

City of Davis is seeking a Collections Systems Technician I/II to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, construction, and repair work across the City’s sewer and drainage systems. The role requires operating equipment, inspecting lines, responding to overflows, and maintaining detailed records.

Ideal candidates will have related training and experience, including a High school diploma (or equivalent) and specialized wastewater collections training.

Qualifications

• Education and experience as described: HS diploma; 1 year for Technician I; 3 years with wastewater exp for Technician II.
• Specialized training in wastewater collections or related field is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and blueprints; operate and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance and repair of sewers, pump stations, streets, and drainage facilities.
• Operate light and heavy power-driven equipment and tools.
• Inspect sewer lines, respond to overflows, and collect samples.
• Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and costs.
• Train and supervise junior staff as needed.
