Job summary

Great Lakes Water Authority is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform, repair, and maintain water mains, hydrants, and associated appurtenances across multiple locations in the system. You will inspect equipment, read maps, and document activities while ensuring safe operations.

The role requires a valid CDL-A with N endorsement within one year, a high school diploma or GED, and willingness to work varied shifts, respond to emergencies on call, and adhere to strict PPE and safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL-A with N endorsement required within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to drive a motor vehicle on all terrain.
• Able to work varying shift hours and be on call for emergencies.
• Subject to drug and alcohol testing per GLWA policy.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and tools for repairing water mains, hydrants, and valves.
• Read maps, meter site drawings, and gate books.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of job activities and reports.
