Job summary

Education Minnesota in St. Cloud, MN is seeking a Field Staff to support union leaders and members, building locals and programs around membership growth, organizing, and social justice.

Under the Director of Field Services, you will train leaders, promote member rights, and help with collective bargaining, communications, and legislative action. This role requires collaboration, travel, and a commitment to equity.

Qualifications

• Experience in education issues, collective bargaining, political and legislative action, grievance processing, local and member training.
• Understanding of organizing principles, labor relations and experience in a union environment.
• Ability to collaborate with others in a team environment and handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, training, and professional assistance to members and locals, including developing organizing plans and strategies.
• Engage members and leaders in 1:1 conversations to assess members, identify issues, and identify potential leaders.
• Develop and implement programs for membership promotion, recruitment, and retention.
• Support locals in all stages of bargaining and coordinate with Education Minnesota, NEA and AFT.
• Train leaders in member rights advocacy and represent members in investigations and grievances.
