Job summary

USA Compression Partners, LP, is seeking an Area Service Manager to lead 8-12 Field Services Technicians and 1-2 Lead Technicians in our field operations across multiple sites in the US. The role combines frontline management with budget oversight, resource planning, and ensuring safety and service standards.

Travel up to 75% is expected to support customers and field crews; you will hire, coach, and develop staff, manage performance, and coordinate with the Operations Director on major repairs

Qualifications

• College degree preferred or requisite job experience in the gas compression industry.
• Minimum of 5 years of field experience in gas compression industry.
• Ability to configure gas compression equipment.
• Ability to work extended hours.
• Capable of driving a commercial-size truck.
• Valid driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record history acceptable to USA Compression.
• Strong interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal skills.
• Ability and interest in further developing people and business management skills.
• Excellent customer service skills with customer field personnel, onsite vendors, and other employees.
• Ability to teach and communicate both technical and soft skills to Field Services Technicians aiding in their training and development.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Internet, and inventory tracking software.
• High degree of mechanical ability

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety adherence and service standards.
• First-line support for troubleshooting issues.
• Hire, coach, motivate, compensation, and performance management.
• Follow company policy and procedures.
• Maintain field-level customer relationships.
• Provide proactive communication to customers and employees.
• Monitor fleet operation costs to meet targets.
• Oversee and coordinate Service Technician activities.
• Advise the Operations Director of major repairs as needed.
• Ensure run time meets contractual agreements.
• Schedule and perform maintenance as required.
• Maintain company vehicle per guidelines.
• Make recommendations on capital expenditures for field equipment.
• Act as liaison to outside vendors.
• Collaborate with sales to identify opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Travel and field duties as required by role
