Job summary

NES Fircroft partners with an established industrial machinery manufacturer to add a Service Engineer to its U.S. team. The role covers installation, startup, troubleshooting, maintenance, rebuilds, and customer support across the U.S. and internationally.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in servicing industrial machinery, strong mechanical repair skills, hydraulics experience, and willingness to travel extensively (80–90%). A technical degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience servicing or commissioning industrial machinery or a relevant technical degree.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and hands-on repair ability.
• Experience with hydraulics, mechanical drives and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical drawings/schematics.
• Customer-facing problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, start up, service, maintain, and repair precision industrial machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems including gears, belts, pulleys, pistons, rams, lubrication systems, bearings, and alignment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems using hydraulic schematics.
• Perform machine setup, calibration, testing, and operational checks.
• Support the startup and debug of newly manufactured and rebuilt machines.
• Identify mechanical faults and determine the best repair solution to minimize downtime.
• Support electrical troubleshooting involving motors, sensors, switches, and machine components.
• Work directly with customers to resolve equipment issues and provide technical support.

I’m partnering with an established industrial machinery manufacturer looking to add an experienced Service Engineer to its U.S. team.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical background to work on complex precision machinery used across rail and industrial manufacturing environments. The role covers installation, startup, troubleshooting, maintenance, rebuilds, and customer support across the U.S. and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, start up, service, maintain, and repair precision industrial machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems including gears, belts, pulleys, pistons, rams, lubrication systems, bearings, and alignment.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience servicing, maintaining, rebuilding, or commissioning industrial machinery, or a relevant technical degree.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and hands-on repair experience.
• Experience working with hydraulics, mechanical drives, alignment, lubrication systems, and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong understanding of how mechanical and electrical systems work together within industrial equipment.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field.
• Ability to travel approximately 80–90%, including domestic and international travel.

Preferred Experience

• Background with machine tools, CNC machinery, rail equipment, heavy manufacturing, or industrial machinery.
• Experience rebuilding, installing, or commissioning complex mechanical equipment.
• Basic PLC or ladder logic troubleshooting experience is a plus, but not essential.
