Job summary

Insight Global is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer.

You will travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain advanced equipment, with an initial training phase and then a cycle of 4–6 week installation projects, returning home for an admin week between assignments.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to articulate thought process during maintenance or repair tasks.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment and robotic systems.
• Experience using a Multimeter for continuity, amperage, voltage, resistance checks.
• Familiarity with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain advanced semiconductor equipment at customer sites.
• Travel on 4–6 week installation projects with admin/home weeks between assignments.
• Participate in hands-on training and toolset familiarization during the initial period.

Job description

Travel: 4-6 weeks on, 1 week off (Paid on your week home)

• Flights, Hotels, rentals booked by Insight Global
• $65 per day per diem for food when traveling

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8-5 (Overtime is available & paid at 1.5)

• Max 60 hours/week

Duration: 12 month contract + extensions & possible conversion

Pay:

• No Semi Experience: $25-28/hour
• Semi Experience: $28-32/hour
• Most technicians and engineers in this program earn roughly $90K-$120K+ annually when taking advantage of available overtime and an additional ~$19K/year in per diem

Interview Process:

• Recruiter Screening with Natalie (15 min phone)
• Virtual Final with customer

Start Date: 2 weeks from an offer

Required:

• Comfortable with 80% travel (traveling for 6-8 weeks to do the installs – home every 6th week for an admin week)
• Strong troubleshooting skills - ability to speak on thought process on maintenance, troubleshooting, or repairing equipment
• Strong knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical systems
• Experience using a Multimeter - Continuity Checks, Amperage, Voltage, Resistance
• Experience working with a torque wrench
• Familiarity with Lock Out Tag Out Process - (LOTO)
• Experience working with / troubleshooting robotic equipment
• Experience supporting semiconductor equipment
• Military experience in the following MOS’: Avionics Technician, Load Master, Electronics Technician, Vehicle Tech

Overview:

Join a leading semiconductor equipment manufacturer as a Field Service Engineer. You'll travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain advanced equipment. During your first 15 days, you'll be assigned a toolset and customer base, followed by three weeks of hands‑on training. After training, you'll travel on 4-6 week installation projects, with an admin week at home between assignments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys travel, solving technical problems, and working directly with cutting‑edge technology.

Compensation:

$25/hr to $35/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
