Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking field service technicians to join a fully remote team servicing beverage and liquid food packaging machinery on the West Coast. The role requires frequent air travel (90-95%) to customer sites and acting as the face of our client during troubleshooting and repairs.

Relevant experience in plastics or blow molding is preferred, with strong mechanical/electrical skills. You will perform on‑site diagnostics, electrical/mechanical repairs, PLC edits, safety audits, operator

Qualifications

• Candidates must have strong mechanical and/or electrical skills.
• Analytical thinking for solving technical tasks is required.
• PLC programming experience is preferred.
• Experience with plastics or blow molding is a plus.
• Passport or willingness to obtain one is required.
• Must reside in WA, CA, OR, ID, NV, UT, CO, WY or MT.

Responsibilities

• Receive trip assignments and arrange travel to meet customer requirements.
• Interview customers to identify machine problems and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Conduct hands‑on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and modify PLC programs as needed.
• Audit safety devices and replace or repair as required.
• Train customers for operation and maintenance.
• Guide operators on size/format changes for packaging.
• Assist senior techs with start‑ups and power/wiring checks.
• Ensure product flow is correct and report statuses to team.
• Submit Equipment Acceptance Reports, Service Work Reports and other docs.

Job description

A leading manufacturer of filling and packaging systems for beverages and liquid food is adding to their fully remote field service team on the West Coast. We are looking for technicians who can travel via plane 90-95% of the time, within their region, and be the face of our client as they work to troubleshoot and fix machinery. This person must have experience with plastics or have worked in an environment that did blow molding.

What You'll Do

• Receives trip assignment from inside schedulers and make travel arrangements to arrive on time according to customer requirements.
• Interview customers to determine machine problems and then performs basic troubleshooting on machine functioning
• Performs hands‑on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on machines to ensure machine is functioning correctly according to specifications
• Troubleshoots and modifies or edits programs of PLCs.
• Audit and documents missing or bypassed safety devices on machines and replace or repair.
• Train customers for successful operation and maintenance
• Show operators how to do changes for different size or format packaging
• Work under the direction of senior technicians to start‑up new machines, checks power system and wiring; observes lockout tag out process to check machine components functionality
• Establish that product is moving through properly
• Communicates with internal staff to solve technical problems or project issues.
• Prepares concise, accurate, professional and timely Equipment Acceptance Reports, Service Work Reports, Expense Reports and other support documentation for customer visits; communicates with internal staff to report on service activities
• Complete and submit reports
• Periodically inspects customer spare parts inventory and recommends additional parts orders as needed for successful equipment maintenance and operation.

Hourly rate up to $45 an hour + TONS of OT pay and full health benefits
