Job summary

JBT Marel Corporation is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site technical support for installation, maintenance, and repair of JBT Marel equipment at customer locations in the Stratford, WI area.

You will perform commissioning, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and customer training, ensuring equipment reliability and customer satisfaction. Travel, including overnight and international trips, is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 3–5 years in a field service role, preferably with industrial machinery or food processing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability for complex mechanical systems.
• Solid understanding of electrical control systems, PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), and industrial networking.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in challenging environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer interactions.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and travel extensively, including internationally.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and validate JBT MAREL equipment at customer sites.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure reliability.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
• Execute repairs and replace faulty components as needed.
• Provide technical training to customer personnel on operation and maintenance.
• Document service activities with detailed reports and time spent.
• Communicate with customers, sales teams and internal support to resolve issues.
• Adhere to safety policies and customer site regulations.
• Manage inventory of spare parts in the service vehicle.
• Travel extensively to customer locations, often on short notice, including overnight stays.
