Job summary

Engineering Innovation, Inc. (EII) in Lafayette, IN seeks a Field Service Technician to travel nationwide for installations, maintenance, and training. You will troubleshoot, identify problems, order parts, and install software/firmware. The role emphasizes customer liaison and ongoing support.

The ideal candidate has strong electrical, mechanical, and software aptitude, valid driver’s license, and excellent communication skills. In-office, hands-on training in Lafayette may be required.

Qualifications

• Has strong electrical, mechanical and software aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites for installations, maintenance, training and troubleshooting.
• Document details of each customer interaction.
• Make and receive calls with customers.
• Synthesize product knowledge to answer customer questions.
• Take ownership of customer issues through resolution.
• Research, diagnose and identify solutions to customer problems.
• Instruct customers on maintenance or replacement of parts and equipment.
• Instruct customers on configuration and use of equipment.
• Install patches and software upgrades.
• Serve as counterpart to Customer Support Technicians.
• Rotating after-hours support.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Job tasks will be out of Lafayette, Indiana office for hands-on training.
