Job summary

Point Broadband in Springboro, OH is hiring a Field Service Technician to install and service customer equipment, manage wiring and network assets, and ensure quality service at customer locations.

The ideal candidate will be friendly, reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with basic technical aptitude; in-house training is provided. A clean driving record and ability to pass background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Able to present technical information clearly to customers.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; broadband experience preferred.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn field equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform new connects, reconnects, disconnects, upgrades, downgrades and changes of service.
• Install outlets and relocate wiring as needed.
• Install or remove converters and cable modems.
• Train customers on proper use of equipment.
• Monitor, repair and record system performance and leakage.
• Troubleshoot from customer device to tap and from tap to customer device.
• Identify and report noncompliance with FCC/NESC standards and company policies.
• Maintain professional appearance and excellent attendance; manage vehicle/tool inventory.
