Job summary

Amada America, Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician in Kentucky to install and service complex machinery. You will complete all installation steps, travel regularly, and coordinate with service managers to ensure customer satisfaction across diverse sites.

The role requires knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, plus hands-on tools, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes. Strong communication with customers and coworkers is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Ability to use hand tools and measurement instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all aspects of the installation.
  • Follow up with proper departments to obtain customer satisfaction.
  • Complete service reports, expense reports weekly, and necessary documentation.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations and follow through on issues.
  • Maintain excellent coworker and manager relations.
  • Complete internal paperwork (urgent parts requests, purchase requisitions, etc.).
  • Regular travel.
  • Provide feedback to the manager on issues requiring action.

Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Complete all aspects of the installation:
  • Follow up on any aspects outside of the normal scope of work with the proper departments to obtain customer satisfaction.
  • Complete status (service) reports, expense reports every week, and technical documentation as needed.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations and follow through on customer issues.
  • Maintain excellent coworker and manager relations.
  • Complete other required internal paperwork (Urgent Parts Requests, Parts Removal Requests, Purchase Requisitions, etc.).
  • Regular travel.
  • Provide feedback to the manager on any machine and customer issues that require further action.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Demonstrate a commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by complying with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health, and safety program.

Area and Regional Service Managers

KNOWLEDGE

This position requires technical and working knowledge of:

  • Mechanical systems
  • Electrical systems
  • Hydraulics
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience, in a related discipline.
SKILLS
  • Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter, and Oscilloscope.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent relational skills (with customers, coworkers (senior and junior), and management).
TRAVEL

Routine travel, with overnight and weekend stays as needed.
