Job summary

Power Electronics in Tucson, AZ, is seeking a Field Service Technician to ensure optimal performance of utility-scale solar and battery systems. You will perform start-up, commissioning, configuration checks, and on-site repairs in the field.

Requirements include journeyman or master Electrician license or equivalent degree, 2–3 years in field service, and knowledge of electrical systems and solar inverters. Travel across the U.S. and 24/7 support may be required.

Qualifications

• Education or licenses: Journeyman or Master’s Electrician license.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronics engineering, or related technical field.
• OSHA, NFPA 70E, or similar safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform start-up and commissioning of solar inverters at photovoltaic plants.
• Ensure systems are configured and operating according to specifications.
• Diagnose and repair inverter faults in the field.
• Replace components such as MV transformers, switchgear, electronic boards, AC/DC fuses, fans, and filters.
• Follow safe start/stop procedures and warranty protocols.
• Submit accurate daily field reports detailing work performed and time spent.
