Job summary

BENCO Equipment, based in Hopkins, MN, is seeking a Service Technician to install, diagnose, and repair shop equipment, including hoists, tire changers, and air systems. You will test, adjust, and prepare equipment for delivery while reporting work promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; an Associate's Degree or technical school certificate is a plus.
• Working knowledge of automotive shop equipment, hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment and components in the field.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand the customer’s expectations and work to exceed them.
• Ability to work in the field without supervision.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced service environment.
• Willingness and ability to comply with company safety requirements and maintain safe working habits.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Flexibility to work overtime hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose, and repair shop equipment: 2 and 4 post hoists, tire changers, wheel balancers, industrial air compressors, pressure washers, waste oil heaters, air line systems, lube systems, exhaust systems, and other shop-type equipment.
• Top-tier industry-specific training provided.
• Follow logical steps to troubleshoot the cause of problems with equipment.
• Run equipment tests and make adjustments as required.
• Prepare equipment for delivery by inspecting and operating machines prior to delivery as able.
• Keep up to date and continue education on new technologies as required.
• Accurately report service work performed in a timely manner.
• Present yourself in a professional manner at all times.
