Job Summary

The part-time Field Service Technician will provide customers and owners of Hydro equipment with continual technical assistance and instructions in the installation, maintenance, and operation of Hydro’s wastewater and wet weather products and processes.

Job Location

This is a remote position; candidates must live within 50 miles of Melbourne, FL.

Job Responsibilities

1. Work closely with customer service, project engineers, sales, management, and other co-workers to ensure professional and seamless service to customers.
2. Increase customer knowledge of Hydro’s products by facilitating installation, start-up, and maintenance of Hydro’s wastewater and wet weather products.
3. Supervise the field installation of Hydro’s wastewater and wet weather products, as necessary.
4. Coordinate and provide technical advice, assistance, and product training to customers.
5. Perform inspections of Hydro’s products in the fabrication shop and in the field.
6. Aid in evaluating vendor products and developing standards to enhance performance and operation.
7. Identify areas for product improvement or needs for new products in collaboration with sales and engineering.
8. Maintain relations between the customer and the organization on field service matters.
9. Assist customer service and sales channels by providing technical expertise to prospective and established customers.
10. Assist pilot program coordinator with technical and mechanical services for Hydro’s pilot equipment.
11. Perform or assist with field performance testing of Hydro’s products as required.
12. Maintain a historical log of site visits and generate trip reports, including site photos, using approved forms and checklists.
13. Apply requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 as appropriate within the areas of responsibility.
14. Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met for self, employees, and projects.

Job Requirements

• A degree in a technical field is desirable; relevant work experience may substitute for a degree.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude, working knowledge of electronics and electrical systems, and strong communication skills.
• At least three years of shop or field experience in installation, maintenance, and operation of similar equipment.
• Self-sufficient, problem solver, and effective time and resource manager.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb stairs.
• Ability to sit at a desk/computer station for long periods with regular breaks.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% in North America and abroad (primarily domestic).
