Job Summary

The part-time Field Service Technician will provide customers and owners of Hydro equipment with ongoing technical assistance and instructions regarding the installation, maintenance, and operation of Hydro's wastewater and wet weather products and processes.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Work closely with customer service, project engineers, sales, management, and co-workers to ensure professional and seamless service to customers.
  2. Increase customer's knowledge of Hydro's products by facilitating installation, start-up, and maintenance of wastewater and wet weather products.
  3. Supervise field installation of Hydro's wastewater and wet weather products, as necessary.
  4. Coordinate and provide technical advice, assistance, and product training to customers.
  5. Perform inspections of products in fabrication and in the field.
  6. Assist in evaluating vendor products and developing standards to enhance performance.
  7. Identify areas for product improvement or new product needs in collaboration with sales and engineering.
  8. Maintain relationships between the customer and the organization regarding field service matters.
  9. Support sales and customer service channels with technical expertise to prospective and existing customers.
  10. Assist with technical and mechanical services for Hydro's pilot equipment.
  11. Conduct or assist with field performance testing of products as required.
  12. Maintain logs of site visits and generate trip reports, including photos, using approved forms.
  13. Implement requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 as appropriate.
  14. Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are met in your areas of responsibility.
  15. This is a part-time role, working less than 30 hours per week.
Job Requirements
  • A degree in a technical field is desirable; relevant work experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, working knowledge of electronics and electrical systems, and strong communication skills.
  • At least three years of shop or field experience with similar or related equipment.
  • Self-sufficient, problem solver, effective time and resource manager.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb stairs.
  • Ability to sit at a desk/computer station for extended periods with regular breaks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% within North America and abroad, primarily domestically.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Melbourne, FL.
