Job summary

Amada America, Inc. is seeking a field service professional to support Punch Press installations, service, and training across the Long Island and Northeast region. The role includes travel, hands-on installation, and programming support for Amada presses and related systems.

The ideal candidate will have a 2-year degree with related work experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate in English. A robust benefits package and travel opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Proficient in trouble shooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems as well as networks.
• Include repairs, installations, basic operations and maintenance of Amada press brakes, punch press.
• Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blue prints used in the installation of equipment.
• The ability to communicate in the English language.
• Excellent customer relations and follow through.
• Managing the total equipment installation process at Customer site entailing use of hand tools, climbing, bending, stooping.
• Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities, and customer training of such.
• Use of Amada applications software used in line control and part programming.
• Regular travel within assigned territories.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Support customers with Amada Punch Presses in installation, service, and training.
• Perform repairs, installations, and maintenance of Amada press brakes and punch presses.
• Follow layout drawings and blueprints for equipment installation.
• Prepare daily service reports and weekly expense reports.
• Communicate effectively in English with customers.
• Maintain excellent customer relations and follow through.
• Manage equipment installation at customer sites, including tool use and physical duties.
• Provide operation, software, and part programming training to customers.
• Use Amada applications software for line control and programming.
• Travel regularly within assigned territories.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.

Job description

To support customers with (but not limited to) Amada Punch Presses in the Long Island, NY territory. This includes installation, service, operational training, networking, programming training, software training, application training, and laser automation training. The duties are not exclusive of performing the same functions for Punch Press and combination machines, including automated material loading/unloading machines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Proficient in trouble shooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, control systems as well as networks.
• Include repairs, installations, basic operations and maintenance of Amada press brakes, punch press.
• Able to precisely follow layout drawings and blue prints used in the installation of equipment.
• Complete status (service) reports on a daily basis and expense reports on a weekly basis.
• The ability to communicate in the English language.
• Excellent customer relations and follow through.
• Managing the total equipment installation process at Customer site entailing use of hand tools, climbing, bending, stooping.
• Operation, applications, software, and part programming capabilities, and customer training of such.
• Use of Amada applications software used in line control and part programming.
• Regular travel within assigned territories.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

KNOWLEDGE

Minimum of a 2 yr degree with related work experience preferred.

SKILLS

• Ability to analyze and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use hand tools, Volt/Ohm meter and Oscilloscope.
• Working knowledge of computers and Windows OS.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Being accountable and responsible to service and support a customer through all aspects of the customer's ownership of the machine.
• Strong electrical and mechanical experience

TRAVEL

• Routine travel within assigned territories with occasional overnight stays.
• Territory - Hempstead NY, Long Island, NY
• Travel anywhere in the Northeast for machine training
• Assigned training outside of the Northeast when necessary
• There will be significant overnight travel during the first few years until the person can manage the customers in Long Island and address their needs.
• Must be open to traveling anywhere within the United States at the beginning of their career with Amada

PAY RATE

$30.00/HR
