TITLE: Field Service Technician

LOCATION: Orlando, FL area (driving to client locations within a 100 mile radius)

OVERVIEW
The Field Service Technician provides hands-on technical support for local field dispatches. This role is remote-based, with technicians working from home and servicing local clients. Field Service Technicians will perform structured cabling, fiber cable extensions, hardware racking and stacking, and network access control tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform structured cabling installations and fiber cable extensions
2. Rack and stack networking hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and WiFi access points
3. Support audio/video equipment, laptops, low-voltage cabling, telecom devices, and physical security systems
4. Use ticketing system software to receive and complete dispatch tickets
5. Communicate and document work using Microsoft Office
6. Provide customer-facing troubleshooting and support services
7. Work independently within a designated area while collaborating with a larger remote team

REQUIRED SKILLS

1. 2+ years of hands-on experience with structured cabling or networking hardware
2. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to interact with customers effectively
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and communication

1. Experience with fiber optic cabling and network access control is preferred
2. Prior field service experience is preferred, working in fields such as telecommunications, data centers, or managed service providers

1. Methodical troubleshooting approach with attention to detail
2. Strong client-facing communication skills
3. Technical School degrees and certifications are a plus
