ENGEL Machinery North America has a job opportunity for a Service Technician in our Service Department. Job Summary:

The Service Technician performs work remotely at customer sites, installing and servicing equipment, and providing customer training and support as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines and robots, including conducting tests and inspections on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, or software components, including calibrations to optimize performance. Perform software and hardware installations.
2. Perform safety checks on equipment.
3. Educate customers on equipment operation.
4. Manage resolution of customer issues, including ordering and installing replacement parts.
5. Order replacement parts, diagnose control system problems, and develop organized approaches to machine repairs and parts replacements.
6. Instruct other Service Technicians and customer operators on maintenance and safe operation of injection molding systems.
7. Maintain ongoing communication with Central Service/Manufacturing/Parts Center to resolve field issues.
8. Provide regular written reports to the Service Manager.

Educational/Training Requirements:

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

• 5+ years in injection molding troubleshooting or processing, or prior experience as a Field Service Injection Molding Technician/Service Engineer.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Experience with injection molding machines, with skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and computer systems, capable of providing basic training.
• Understanding of the injection molding process.
• Systematic troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of microprocessor programming.
• Knowledge of materials like PET, Polypropylene, Polyethylene, Styrene, etc.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer service orientation.
• Diplomacy and tact, especially in handling difficult customers.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Familiarity with ENGEL machines and robots is preferred.
• Efficient use of internal resources to resolve issues promptly.
• Ability to work independently with minimal support.

MUST HAVE:

• Valid Passport, driver’s license in good standing, including REAL-ID.
