Job summary

DESCO Service is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to support Acuity Brands with installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial lighting, electrical, and control systems. This field-based role involves travel to customer sites and working with DESCO management, dispatch, and manufacturer reps to ensure safe, professional service.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, commercial equipment, lighting systems, controls, or low-voltage systems.
• Strong electrical and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of computer networking and/or Cat5 cabling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial lighting, electrical, and control systems.
• Perform field service activities including diagnostics, testing, commissioning, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Travel to customer locations and document work performed, parts used, and test results.
• Communicate status and findings professionally to customers and internal teams.
