WECO, A Duravant Company, is looking for a Field Service Technician based in Hammonton, New Jersey. This position involves extensive travel, up to 75%, to perform installations, maintenance, and repairs at customer sites. With over 30 years of optical color and sorting expertise, California-based WECO designs, manufactures and services electronic sorters deployed worldwide for the fruit and nut processing industry. WECO equipment serves sectors such as tomato sorting on the harvester, walnut and pecan line sorting and drying, hops kiln moisture monitoring, and small fruit sorting of blueberries, cranberries, olives, coffee cherries and wine grapes.
The Field Service Technician works closely with Sales Managers, Engineers and Operations Leaders to exceed customer expectations on every assignment. The role involves traveling to customer sites to perform planned services, troubleshoot issues, make repairs, recommend spare parts, and provide upgrades and modernizations. The Technician is also responsible for delivering total equipment lifecycle management services including installation, start‑up/commissioning, preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, audits and training. 75% regional travel is required during busy seasons from August to November and the position requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
During the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, talk, hear, and drive; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. On occasion, the employee may need to climb and work in high places, and reach with hands and arms above the shoulders. The incumbent must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.
The work environment is characterized by moving mechanical parts, moderate cold and moderate heat depending on time of year and location. Noise levels are usually moderate but can be loud. The employee may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
