Job summary

LINET Americas, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician I to install, troubleshoot and repair LINET and non-LINET products in hospital environments.

You will assist on customer installations and report bed function issues to the Technical Support Team, completing repairs within established standards on-site. Requirements include a High School Diploma, 5 years related experience, electro-mechanical repair skills, a valid driver license, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Advanced electro-mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in driving “C” size trucks.
  • Valid driver license; ability to be insured under Company guidelines; license record reviewed annually.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high level of customer service and interact with customers in a professional manner.
  • Complete repair work for service related to electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems repairs as per established service standards and training.
  • Assist as instructed on installations and complete routine preventative maintenance per service contracts.
  • Document repairs as completed per work orders, including evaluation, service or PM forms, describing bed function failures and remedies, parts used, or parts required; confirm warranty status.
  • Submit all paperwork signed by technician and facility representative to Technical Support Team within 24 hours of completion.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on beds and repairs on all beds, stretchers, OBTs, and other accessories per service contracts and work orders.
  • Understand product functionality and benefits to meet emergent customer needs and patient/caregiver benefits.
  • Continue education as provided by LINET to stay current on LINET products and technologies.
  • Adhere to LINET Safety Procedures during maintenance, repairs, installations and related tasks.
  • Wear PPE including safety shoes, eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing at all times.
  • LINET equipment will be provided and used; conduct service van maintenance, inventory tools and spare parts; report issues for safety.
  • All other duties as assigned
  • Regular and timely attendance, nights, weekends and on-call hours may be required.

Job description

At the direction of the Field Service Supervisor and the Technical Support Team, the Field Service Technician I will be provided assignments to complete installation, troubleshooting and repair of LINET and non-LINET products in hospital and healthcare facilities. The Field Service Technician will assist on customer installations and be responsible for reporting any damages, bed function failures to the Technical Support Team, and if possible, repair any of the reported bed concerns within the established standards while on site.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high level of customer service and interact with customers in a professional manner.
  • Complete repair work for service related to electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems repairs as per established service standards and training.
  • Will assist as instructed on installations and will complete routine preventative maintenance per service contracts.
  • Document repairs as completed per work orders, to include, but not limited to; evaluation, service or PM forms, accurately describing any bed function failure, and how the failure was remedied, including parts used, or parts required to restore the bed back to service, and confirming warranty or non-warranty reported failure.
  • All paperwork must be signed by both the technician and the facility representative, then submitted to Technical Support Team within 24 hours of completion
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on beds, and repairs on all beds, stretchers, OBT’s, and other accessory items that may have reported failures per outlined service contracts and work orders.
  • Understand the detailed functionality and benefit offering of each product, how each product is best applied to meet emergent customer needs and benefits the products will provide to both the patient and caregivers.
  • Complete ongoing education, as provided by LINET to stay current on all LINET products and technologies.
  • Adhere to LINET Safety Procedures while conducting routine maintenance, work order repairs, installations and other-directed work on LINET products.
  • Wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety shoes, eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing at all times.
  • LINET will provide established equipment annually. LINET equipment is to be utilized by the service technician when working on LINET products and completing other assigned tasks.
  • Required to complete service van maintenance, inventory of required tools, and spare parts prior to and at the end of each shift. If the van, tools or parts are in need of service or repair, the Service Technician will report this to his or her manager for approval to repair equipment prior to continued use for safety and per guidelines.
  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years related experience and/or training
  • Advanced electro-mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in driving “C” size trucks
  • Valid driver license, ability to be insured under Company insurance per established guidelines. Drivers’ license record will be reviewed on an annual basis.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and stand. The employee occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Ability to drive in inclement weather.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in hospital environments where biohazards could be present

TRAVEL

This position requires travel of 5% up to 80% for the purposes of field service, delivery & installation of beds, and occasional sales support and trade shows.
