Job summary

Duravant’s Life Cycle Services division seeks a Field Service Technician within an hour of the Dallas area to service customer sites through installations, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrades.

You will need strong mechanical, electrical, and PLC knowledge, read schematics, and work with AB CompactLogix, PanelView HMIs, and servo drives while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic components.
• Ability to interpret schematics and engineering documentation.
• Experience with AB CompactLogix PLCs and PLC programming knowledge.
• AB PanelView and HMI programming/troubleshooting.
• VFD parameter configuration.
• Understanding servo drive motor systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field service calls at customer sites for installations, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, audits and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and PLC programs.
• Meet service delivery metrics: response time, first-time fix, customer satisfaction.
• Document all service activities accurately.
• Provide equipment reliability feedback to quality engineering.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Duravant companies.

** This is a position for candidates within an hour of the Dallas area. **

Duravant’s Life Cycle Services division requires all Field Service Technicians to travel to customer sites to perform total equipment lifecycle management services. This includes installations, preventative maintenance, start-up/commissioning, troubleshooting issues, and provide upgrades/modernizations.

Duravant Field Service Technician:

• Conduct field service calls at customer sites to provide installation, commissioning, emergency repair, technical support, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits and training services.
• Perform mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting for PLC programs and servo drive configuration.
• Achieve service delivery goals including response time, first time fix and customer satisfaction rates.
• Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of all service activities.
• Provide equipment reliability feedback to quality engineering and collaborate on improvements.
• Participate in cross-training and cross-functional teams with other Duravant operating companies.

• Degree of knowledge and experience of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic components.
• Ability to interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics, including schematics and mechanical engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of AB CompactLogix and various other PLCs knowledge/experience in operation, troubleshooting, and modifications.
• AB PanelView and various types of HMI programming and troubleshooting.
• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) parameter configuration and programming.
• Depth-full understanding of Servo drive motor systems and configuration.

Duravant Field Service Technician Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics is desired.
• EE, EET, EECS or Industrial Electronics degree is a plus
• 2+ years of experience in the maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of large capital equipment required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background required.
• Solid understanding and programming of PLCs is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license, valid passport, and a good driving record.
• Travel extensively, up to 80% this can be regionally, nationally, or internationally
