Job summary

Duravant is seeking a Field Service Technician to travel to customer sites in the Holland, MI area for installations, preventive maintenance, startup/commissioning, and upgrades.

You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, program PLCs (AB CompactLogix and PanelView), configure VFDs, and document activities. Travel up to 80% is required, with collaboration across Duravant teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of large capital equipment.
• Valid driver's license, valid passport, and a good driving record.
• Travel extensively, up to 80% this can be regionally, nationally, or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field service calls at customer sites to provide installation, commissioning, emergency repair, technical support, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits and training services.
• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting for PLC programs and servo drive configuration.
• Achieve service delivery goals including response time, first time fix and customer satisfaction rates.
• Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of all service activities.
• Provide equipment reliability feedback to quality engineering and collaborate on improvements.
• Participate in cross-training and cross-functional teams with other Duravant operating companies.

Job description

** This is a position for candidates within an hour of the Holland MI area. **

Duravant’s Life Cycle Services division requires all Field Service Technicians to travel to customer sites to perform total equipment lifecycle management services. This includes installations, preventative maintenance, start-up/commissioning, troubleshooting issues, and provide upgrades/modernizations.

Duravant Field Service Technician:

• Conduct field service calls at customer sites to provide installation, commissioning, emergency repair, technical support, preventive maintenance, audits, retrofits and training services.
• Perform mechanical and electrical, troubleshooting for PLC programs and servo drive configuration.
• Achieve service delivery goals including response time, first time fix and customer satisfaction rates.
• Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of all service activities.
• Provide equipment reliability feedback to quality engineering and collaborate on improvements.
• Participate in cross-training and cross-functional teams with other Duravant operating companies.

Duravant Field Service Technician Competencies: If you hold any of these qualifications

• Degree of knowledge and experience of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic components.
• Ability to interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics, including schematics and mechanical engineering documentation.
• Knowledge of AB CompactLogix and various other PLCs knowledge/experience in operation, troubleshooting, and modifications.
• AB PanelView and various types of HMI programming and troubleshooting.
• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) parameter configuration and programming.
• Depth-full understanding of Servo drive motor systems and configuration.

Duravant Field Service Technician Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics is desired.
• EE, EET, EECS or Industrial Electronics degree is a plus
• 2+ years of experience in the maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of large capital equipment required.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background required.
• Solid understanding and programming of PLCs is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license, valid passport, and a good driving record.
• Travel extensively, up to 80% this can be regionally, nationally, or internationally
