Job description

Triad Service Center is seeking a qualified Field Technician for service and repair of light industrial equipment in the Paterson, NJ area. Equipment commonly worked on includes floor scrubbers, sweepers, handicapped carts, checkout lanes, paint shakers, and other commercial customer equipment found in large retail or industrial locations. Technicians will also install and service grease containment units used with deep fryers. This position utilizes a company vehicle regionally and requires a valid, good standing driver’s license.

The position is primarily Monday-Friday, averaging 40 hours a week. A vehicle, laptop, cell phone, and paid training are provided.

Starting Pay Range: $20-$27

Our Technicians' Typical Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:

• Have strong mechanical aptitude to diagnose, repair, and complete service calls and scheduled PMs on light industrial equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service by performing on-location preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Visually inspect, test, and listen to machines to locate malfunctions; dismantle parts to detect wear or misalignment.
• Install new or repaired parts; clean and lubricate machinery components.
• Stay organized by scheduling repairs and PMs efficiently, and maintain accurate records of work orders, parts, and supplies.
• Submit all required paperwork daily, including work orders, timecards, parts orders, and agendas. Treat company equipment responsibly and follow guidelines for the company vehicle.

Additional Information:

• Travel may average up to 300 miles per day.
• Must regularly lift/move up to 10-50 pounds and frequently up to 100 pounds.
• Income is hourly, with potential reductions for commute time; exposure to moving parts, electrical hazards, fumes, chemicals.
• Typically Monday-Friday; weekends and after-hours work possible with emergency rates; on-call ends at 11 am EST on weekends and holidays.
• Adhere to safety procedures; report unsafe conditions; use equipment properly.
• Dependability: maintain excellent attendance, respond promptly to service requests, follow instructions, and maintain a valid driver’s license with safe driving skills.
