Job summary

DECCO Postharvest, part of ADVANTA, seeks a Service & Industrial Technician to maintain DECCO equipment in packing houses and territory. The role focuses on optimizing performance, improving product application, and collaborating with multiple departments, customers and staff.

The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, communication skills, and the ability to work across sites, including occasional travel to support customers and perform installations and service activities.

Qualifications

• BS degree in STEM or 3 years of technical experience with some training/certificates
• Proficient communication skills for interacting with internal teams and customers
• Valid Driver's License
• Experience with electrical systems, PLCs and control panel designs
• Ability to read CAD drawings and electrical diagrams

Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, maintain, and optimize DECCO control systems including PLCs, panels, sensors, and automation equipment
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions by reading blueprints and diagrams; troubleshoot and repair PLCs, panels, sprayers, pumps and motors
• Provide field service support at customer sites, communicating status and function to teams and customers
• Train technicians and contribute to development of training materials and standard procedures
• Support service coverage, including installations, maintenance, and emergency service work; travel as needed
