Jobvite, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician III to assist senior technicians in operating and maintaining utility-scale solar facilities, including preventative and corrective maintenance of panels, trackers, and inverters.

The role requires on-site presence and a focus on safety and reliability. You will guide junior technicians, troubleshoot low and high voltage systems, use CMMS, manage site inventory, and participate in developing operating plans.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred.
  • FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot certification preferred; 4+ years electrical maintenance experience; LV/MV/HV experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior field technicians with operating and maintaining utility-scale solar facilities.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on AC/DC power systems and identify faulty equipment.
  • Maintain site inventory and use CMMS for work orders and reporting.
  • Follow safety plans, LOTO procedures, and on-call rotations; interact with project stakeholders.

Job description

Summary:

The Field Service Technician III will assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.

Requirements:
  • Takes direction from senior site personnel.
  • Sets positive example for and mentors junior technicians.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage DC power systems.
  • Troubleshoots low voltage, medium voltage, and high voltage AC power systems.
  • Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
  • Identifies faulty or underperforming equipment.
  • Uses hand tools effectively.
  • Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Manages site inventory.
  • Assist in development of site operating plans.
  • Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.
  • Adheres to proper Lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) practices and procedures.
  • Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
  • Interfaces with project subcontractors.
  • Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.
  • Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.
  • Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.
  • Presets, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
Safety:
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.
  • Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
  • Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
Qualifications:
  • High school/GED General Education required.
  • Associates Degree related Technical Degree preferred.
  • Certification OSHA 10/30 preferred.
  • Certification FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot preferred.
  • 4+ years or more related electrical maintenance experience required.
  • 2+ years or more Medium voltage electrical work experience required.
  • 1+ years or more High voltage electrical work experience preferred.
  • Intermediate
    • High voltage electrical power systems.
    • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Advanced
    • Low, medium, high voltage electrical power systems, drawings and circuit theory.
    • OSHA regulations.
    • Hand tools.
    • Job hazard analysis (JHA) creation.
    • Electrical tools (multimeter, IR camera).
    • ANSI/NETA/MTS.
    • SCADA systems.
  • Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.
  • Functional Competencies Include: Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Ethics & Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.
  • Domestic travel 5-15% required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.

Anticipated base salary range: $33.67 - $42.09

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
