Job summary

RES is hiring a Field Service Technician I to support senior technicians in operating and maintaining utility-scale solar facilities. This role includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assets such as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.

The ideal candidate will follow safety procedures, work with CMMS, manage site inventory, and travel domestically 5-15% as needed. A valid driver’s license and willingness to work rotating on-call are required.

Qualifications

• High school/GED required.
• 1+ years related maintenance experience preferred.
• Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and electrical power systems.
• Familiar with OSHA regulations and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining solar facilities.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC power systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
• Interface with project stakeholders and subcontractors.
• Represent RES professionally to project stakeholders.
• Respond to priority emergency calls within 1.5 hours.

Summary:

The Field Service Technician I will assist senior Field Service Technicians with operating and maintaining utility scale solar facilities. This work includes preventative and corrective maintenance of on-site assetssuch as solar panels, trackers, and power inverters.

Requirements:

• Takes direction from senior site personnel.
• Assists with troubleshooting of AC and DC power systems.
• Conducts preventative maintenance on AC and DC power systems.
• Uses hand tools effectively.
• Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Manages site inventory.
• Follows site safety plan and safe work practices.
• Interfaces with project stakeholders (owners, equipment manufacturers, etc.).
• Interfaces with project subcontractors.
• Represents RES in professional manner to project stakeholders.
• Responds to physical location within 1.5 hours for emergency calls identified as a priority by Operations Control Center.
• Operates RES company vehicles, including trucks, in accordance with state and federal laws and RES policies.
• Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
• Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
• Presets, supports, and leads by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.

Safety:

• Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
• Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
• Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
• Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
• Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
• Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
• Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
• Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.

Qualifications:

• High school/GED General Education required.
• 1+ years or moreRelated maintenanceexperiencepreferred.
• Basic knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Electrical power systems
    • Drawings
    • Basic circuit theory
  • OSHA regulations
  • Hand tools
• Ability to reside with a maximum commuting distance of 60 miles from the work site to ensure availability for on-site responsibilities.
• Ability to work a rotating on-call schedule for emergency response.
• Functional Competencies Include: Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Ethics & Integrity, Communication and Prioritization.
• Domestictravel5-15% required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Anticipated base salary range: $25.96 - $32.45

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
