Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring a Field Service Technician II in Quincy, MA to install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain two-way radio and wireless systems. The role requires hands-on work across RF infrastructure and radio equipment, with a strong focus on customer support and problem resolution.

Candidates should have 3+ years of field experience, an electronics-related degree or equivalent, and proficiency with radio programming and IP networking.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license
• Background screening and drug test required
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent preferred
• 3+ years in field service of two-way radio or wireless systems
• Strong knowledge of RF theory and RF propagation across UHF/VHF/800–900 MHz
• Experience programming radios and radio codeplugs
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and technical docs
• Experience with Motorola/Kenwood/ICOM/Vertex or similar equipment preferred
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking for IP-connected systems
• DAS/BDA experience preferred
• Certifications (Motorola, ETA, NICET, CET, OSHA, etc.) desirable

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain wireless equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz, DAS/BDA)
• Program and manage radio codeplugs with multi-zone configurations
• Service repeaters, antennas, duplexers, multicouplers, base stations, and RF infrastructure
• Use test equipment (spectrum analyzers, wattmeters, TDRs, multimeters) to diagnose issues
• Recommend hardware and solutions meeting customer operational needs
