Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions invites an experienced Field Service Technician II to join our team in Chantilly, VA, focusing on wireless and two-way radio systems for commercial and public-sector clients. You will install, troubleshoot, program, and maintain complex communications networks at customer sites to ensure reliable operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on electrical and RF work, spectra testing, and collaboration with regional projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, programming, or maintaining two-way radio and wireless communications systems.
• Hands-on experience with UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz RF systems and related equipment.
• Knowledge of radio theory, RF propagation, wireless systems, TCP/IP networking, and reading schematics/blueprints.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or industry certifications preferred.
• Ability to travel regionally, work overnight as required, and hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, program, and maintain two-way radio and wireless systems.
• Support radio programming, codeplug development, and configuration of trunked and multi-zone environments.
• Service RF infrastructure including repeaters, base stations, antennas, BDA/DAS, microwave and wireless broadband.
• Use spectrum analyzers, watt meters, TDRs/FDRs, multimeters and related test equipment to diagnose issues.
• Provide onsite customer support and assist regional projects and on-call operations.
