Heavy driving / travel required. Candidates will receive a $500 monthly stipend and mileage reimbursement.

Job Purpose:

This role involves maintaining and repairing telecommunication equipment, associated computers, networking, and electronic equipment, as well as installing all Securus’ products, features, and equipment. The technician will travel to various locations to resolve issues, serve as an onsite technician, or act as a hybrid technician providing both onsite and roving services. Responsibilities include installation assistance, training, troubleshooting, and administrative duties such as data entry, reporting, and court testimonies when required.

• Repair, maintain, program, and install telecommunications hardware, LAN/WAN/networking hardware/software, and other electronic equipment in correctional facilities.
• Install and repair phones, kiosks, video terminals, WAPs, tablets, and other equipment within correctional facilities.
• Support site surveys, pre-bid meetings, and sales conferences.
• Coordinate with dispatchers regarding work assignments and ETAs.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and interface with multiple departments for resolution.
• Educate and train customers, provide technical support, and follow product and service procedures.
• Perform administrative tasks including data entry, reporting, and managing inventory and assets.
• Demonstrate proficiency with telephony, cabling, wiring, and equipment installation and maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Understanding of customer service needs and ability to improve facility operations related to Securus products.
• Knowledge of electrical, cabling, fiber, wireless, networking standards, and Securus equipment.
• Ability to complete tasks with urgency and high quality.
• Negotiation skills and escalation when necessary.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated with the ability to train independently on telephony products.
• Excellent multitasking, prioritization, and issue tracking skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience with telecom and networking device installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Experience with Windows OS, VOIP, Adtran, Fortinet, AOS, Cisco IOS, and wireless tech.
• Telephony experience including cable pulling, terminations, troubleshooting wiring, T1, and dial tone issues.
• Knowledge of network cabling standards and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with conduit bending (EMT and Rigid).
• Electronics/Electrical certification or degree.
• Over 6 years of related experience.
• Wireless technology experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, sit, walk, speak, listen, bend, reach, push, pull, lift (up to 50 lbs), and manipulate tools.
• Specific vision abilities include close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range: $24.89 - $28.37/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
