Job summary

Motion Industries in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Field Service Technician II to perform on-site service, repair, maintenance and installation of hydraulics and related equipment for regional customers.

The position requires a technical degree and 3–5 years of related experience, strong diagnostic and communication skills, and the ability to work independently with customers. Occasional outdoor work and lifting up to 100 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a technical degree and 3–5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Performs on-site services for new and existing clients, possibly including on-site emergency repairs, equipment servicing and upgrades on a 24/7 on-call basis.
• Responsible for installation, diagnostics, repair and support for equipment installed at customer sites.
• Diagnose problems with equipment, assess extent of the problem, document findings, decide on repair or replacement parts.
• Provide technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements per customer specs.
• Keep customers informed on service progress and recommend system enhancements or repairs.
• Lead small to moderate projects at customer sites and assist junior technicians.
