W&O in the United States is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician II to provide intermediate support for marine control systems aboard commercial vessels. The role combines hands-on service with customer-facing duties and requires strong problem-solving skills and reliability.

You will install, calibrate, and troubleshoot PLC-based systems, travel extensively, and mentor junior staff while maintaining thorough field documentation and communicating with engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical training required.
  • 2-5 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PLCs, electronic diagnostics, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Independently prepare and execute work assignments by interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Travel up to 75%, domestically and internationally, to shipyards, ports, and customer vessels.
  • Lead or support system installations, wiring terminations, calibrations, and operational demonstrations to customers and regulatory authorities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electronic, hydraulic, and PLC-based control systems.
  • Access and modify PLC logic in coordination with the programming department.
  • Train and mentor Technician I staff on field practices.
  • Maintain detailed service documentation and communicate field modifications to engineering.
  • Represent the company to customers with professionalism and technical expertise.
  • Participate in 24-hour on-call rotation
