Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) is seeking a Field Service Technician III to lead expert maintenance and repair of complex aerospace and defense systems across customer sites. You will manage field projects, diagnose tough issues, and mentor junior technicians while developing training materials for customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience as a technician or in a related field.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
• Progressive experience using troubleshooting techniques.
• Thorough understanding of electrical wiring concepts.
• Ability to frequently travel outside the continental US, typically for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform expert-level maintenance and repairs on complex aerospace and defense systems.
• Independently manage field service projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Diagnose and resolve the most challenging technical issues.
• Lead and mentor junior and mid-level technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
• Develop and deliver advanced training programs for customers and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all field activities and equipment status.
• Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
• Oversee inventory management for spare parts and tools.
• Generate comprehensive technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Travel extensively to customer sites, potentially including international locations.
