Job Purpose

EnerSys is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Service Technician II to join our growing team! In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers' equipment operates at peak performance. You will be responsible for providing timely and effective on‑site service, maintenance, and equipment repair. Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer sites to perform basic installation, preventive maintenance, and basic repair of battery equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose common technical issues, replace defective parts, and reassemble equipment.
  • Provide on‑site technical assistance and training to customers on the safe operation of their equipment.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing timely, efficient, and professional service.
  • Effectively communicate with customers to understand their needs, explain technical details, and resolve concerns.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and the company to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Complete all required safety and compliance training.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, and customer interactions.
  • Complete timely reports, including service reports, expense reports, and quality alerts.
  • Manage company assets, including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 70% passing score on an aptitude test.
  • 1½+ years of experience in field service or a related role, preferably in the electrical field.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as schematics and manuals.
  • Basic electrical understanding and experience with test equipment is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks, such as bending, stooping, and kneeling.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able and willing to do overnight travel.
  • Must be able and willing to operate a forklift.
  • This position requires you to drive a company vehicle. Therefore, you must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific driver’s license and have additional driving requirements.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to be on‑call.
  • Must be able and willing to wear a respirator.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Risk of electrical shock.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company and employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyone’s safety.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
