Enersys is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Field Service Technician II to join our growing team! In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers' equipment operates at peak performance. You will be responsible for providing timely and effective on‑site service, maintenance, and equipment repair. You will play a key role in supporting critical infrastructure, focusing on our Energy Systems solutions for telecommunications, data centers, utilities, and other essential services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Field Service Expertise:

  • Travel to customer sites to perform basic installation, preventative maintenance, and basic repair of battery equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose common technical issues, replace defective parts, and reassemble equipment.
  • Provide on‑site technical assistance and training to customers on the safe operation of their equipment.

Customer Focus:

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing timely, efficient, and professional service.
  • Effectively communicate with customers to understand their needs, explain technical details, and resolve concerns.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and the company to ensure customer satisfaction.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000 standards.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Complete all required safety and compliance training.

Administration and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, and customer interactions.
  • Complete timely reports, including service reports, expense reports, and quality alerts.
  • Manage company assets, including a service vehicle, parts inventory, tools, and test equipment.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 ½years of field service experience in electrical, telecom, or energy‑related fields
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and test equipment (Aptitude exam is part of application process; 70% passing score required)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as schematics and manuals.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record for insurability.
  • Availability to work non‑standard hours in a 24/7 work week.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. and carry equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as bending, stooping, and kneeling.
General Job Requirements
  • Must be able and willing to do overnight travel
  • Must be able and willing to operate a forklift.
  • This position requires you to drive a company vehicle. Therefore, you must be able to pass the company’s driving requirements. Certain vehicles may also require a specific drivers license and have additional driving requirements.
  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
  • Must be able and willing to be on‑call.
  • Must be able and willing to wear a respirator.
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime.
  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Risk of electrical shock.
  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
