Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Field Service Technician I in Utah to perform testing, maintenance, and repair of low and medium voltage equipment in the shop and in the field. Responsibilities include testing breakers, wiring, reading schematics, and documenting results using Power DB.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma, 1-5 years of related experience, and NETA certification preferred. Excellent communication and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading and writing).
• Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests.
• Carrying out mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement.
• Wiring circuit breakers.
• Utilize and accurately read test equipment.
• Read schematics and wiring drawings.
• Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls.
• Read and plot time-current curves.
• Test transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
• Document activities accurately using Power DB.
• Work with electrical tools and socket sets.

Position Overview

As a Field Service Technician I your responsibilities include performing testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and in the field.

Responsibilities

• Performing testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests


• Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement


• Wiring circuit breakers


• Utilizing and accurately reading test equipment


• Reading schematics and wiring drawings


• Troubleshooting circuit breaker controls


• Reading and plotting time-current curves


• Testing transformers, including Power Factor and TTR


• Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DB


• Able to work with electrical tools and socket sets

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma


• 1-5 years' related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance


• Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing


• Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred


• Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications


• Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors


• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability


• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)


• Valid Driver's license and good driving record


• Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
