Qualus is seeking a Field Service Technician III in the Specialized Field Services group. The role involves testing, maintaining, and repairing low to medium voltage equipment in both shop and field settings, with substantial travel expected (30-50% overnight).

You will lead testing and repair activities for breakers, transformers, and switchgear, mentor junior staff, and ensure proper site documentation and safety practices are followed.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma.
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Switchgear/High Voltage Technician; HV testing equipment proficiency.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions; solve problems with concrete variables.
• Ability to read and interpret mathematical concepts and diagrams.

Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus in our Specialized Field Services department as a Field Service Technicians III. As a Field Service Technician III you responsibilities include performing testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and in the field.

Travel: 30-50% overnight travel

Responsibilities

• Provide technical capabilities for testing relays, circuit breakers, transformers, motor control equipment, and related switchgear in the field.
• Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement.
• Serve as a technical leader in testing/maintenance/repair of breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and associated equipment
• Provides proper preparation and documentation for site projects
• Wiring circuit breakers.
• Utilizing and accurately reading test equipment.
• Reading schematics and wiring drawings.
• Troubleshooting circuit breaker controls.
• Reading and plotting time-current curves.
• Testing transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.
• Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DB.
• Provide instruction and mentorship in training for junior level technicians
• Able to work with electrical tools and socket sets.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education:High School Diploma
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Switchgear/High Voltage Technician. Proficiency with high voltage test equipment as well as knowledge of low and medium voltage test equipment.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plain and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions of practical situations.
• Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
• Certifications & Licenses: NETA 2 preferred
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
