Job summary

Qualus Corporation in the Field Services department is seeking a Field Service Technician I to perform testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage equipment in the shop and in the field.

The position requires up to 50% overnight travel, outdoors and indoors work, strong safety awareness, and the ability to read schematics, operate test equipment, and document results using Power DB.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance
• Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading and writing) due to safety-related materials, documentation, and client interactions

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests
• Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement
• Wire circuit breakers
• Utilize and accurately read test equipment
• Read schematics and wiring drawings
• Troubleshoot circuit breaker controls
• Read and plot time-current curves
• Test transformers, including Power Factor and TTR
• Accurately document using Power DB
• Work with electrical tools and socket sets

Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus inour Field Services department as a Field Service Technician I. As a Field Service Technician I your responsibilities includeperforming testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and in the field.

Travel: 50% overnight travel

Responsibilities

• Performing testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests

• Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement

• Wiring circuit breakers

• Utilizing and accurately reading test equipment

• Reading schematics and wiring drawings

• Troubleshooting circuit breaker controls

• Reading and plotting time-current curves

• Testing transformers, including Power Factor and TTR

• Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DB

• Able to work with electrical tools and socket sets

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years’ related experience in commercial and industrial maintenance
• Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems testing
• Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
• Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
