Job summary

CraneWorks/RentalWorks is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and repair mobile rental/construction equipment and on-highway trucks at customer sites. You will travel to client locations to diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems using OEM software and diagnostic tools, with occasional overtime or weekend work.

This full-time position requires strong troubleshooting skills, independent work habits, and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to diagnose problems independently and complete repairs in the field with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment systems and manufacturer specifications.
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Proficient with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and field repair practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customers, dispatchers, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair rental equipment.
• Perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other repairs on heavy equipment.
• Respond to service calls promptly to minimize downtime and keep projects moving.
• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to ensure reliability.
• Document inspections, repairs, parts used, and equipment condition accurately.
• Maintain a well-stocked service vehicle and necessary tooling.
• Adhere to safety policies and regulatory requirements on site.
• Provide professional service and communicate repair status to customers.
• Assist with equipment delivery/pickup and other branch service needs.
