Job summary

HITEC in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Field Service Technician to conduct preventive maintenance and support field activities on HITEC systems. You will inspect electrical and mechanical components, perform basic diagnostics, and coordinate with customers to plan and complete service efficiently.

The role requires travel, on‑call shifts, and the ability to work at remote customer sites with supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required; must meet company driving requirements.
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including short notice travel when required.
• Minimum 6 months to 2 years of related electrical/mechanical maintenance or field service experience preferred; equivalent training may be considered.
• Basic electrical background and/or mechanical knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventive maintenance activities with moderate supervision.
• Perform electrical and mechanical inspections of HITEC systems.
• Support corrective maintenance, emergency service, installation, and field projects.
• Review scope, procedures, parts, tools, PPE, and customer requirements before jobs.
• Perform basic troubleshooting using diagrams and documentation.
• Communicate findings clearly with onsite customers and represent HITEC professionally.
• Complete service reports, checklists, and documentation on time.
• Support onboarding and development of junior technicians.
