Job summary

HITEC Power Protection in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks skilled field service technicians to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on HITEC systems. You will support corrective maintenance, installations, and project-related field activities, preparing thoroughly for each task with proper PPE, tools, and documentation.

The role requires basic electrical/mechanical knowledge, the ability to interpret schematics, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret basic single-line diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical documents.
• Basic electrical background and/or mechanical knowledge.
• Strong communication, reporting, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently at remote customer sites with support and escalation resources.
• Ability to follow safety procedures around low- and medium-voltage equipment.

Responsibilities

• Execute assigned preventive maintenance activities on HITEC systems with supervision.
• Perform electrical and mechanical inspections of rotating components, sensors, batteries, cooling systems, and related parts.
• Support corrective maintenance, emergency service, installation, overhaul, and field projects.
• Prepare for jobs by reviewing scope, procedures, tools, PPE, and travel plans.
• Complete service reports, checklists, and required documentation accurately and timely.
• Report daily progress to the Field Service Manager and coordinate with vendors when needed.
• Assist Level 1 technicians and participate in onboarding new staff.
