Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon, a leading provider of transformer and power distribution solutions, seeks a Field Service Technician to support our Power Solutions Group. You will inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical distribution equipment on-site for utilities and industrial sites.

You'll travel locally and regionally, perform testing on transformers and switchgear, and ensure safe operation while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training or associate degree in electrical trades preferred.
• NETA certification is preferred; may substitute 3 years of relevant field experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and control schematics.
• Skilled in using industrial electrical test equipment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and drug screening.
• Ability to work outdoors and lift up to 75 lbs.; willingness for local/region travel.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and maintain distribution equipment across low to high voltages.
• Perform electrical testing on transformers, breakers, switchgear, relays, and related equipment.
• Respond to customer needs, including occasional emergency calls with professionalism and urgency.
• Follow safety standards to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation.
• Care for company tools and test equipment, including check-in/out.
• Travel locally and regionally, with periodic overnight assignments.
