Job summary
The George E. Booth Co. is a family-owned and operated industrial automation sales company seeking a full-time Field Service Technician for the Peoria, IL area.
The role requires travel, occasional overnight stays, and on-call duty to support installation, calibration, and maintenance of process instrumentation, gas detection and valves. You will diagnose root causes, interpret technical docs, and communicate complex information clearly to customers and teammates, with some classroom-style
Qualifications
- Experience servicing industrial process control instrumentation, gas detection, and valves.
- Willing to travel with overnight stays and on-call duty.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
- Capable of understanding level, pressure, flow, temperature and analytical applications.
- Strong communication of technical information to customers and teammates, with classroom-style teaching preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide start‑up, troubleshooting, calibration, repair and maintenance of instrumentation and analytical devices, including gas detection and valves.
- Diagnose root causes of equipment problems and develop permanent solutions for customers.
- Read and interpret technical documentation and prepare written and oral summaries.
- Explain applications and products across level, pressure, flow, temperature and analytical.
- Self‑start and negotiate sales of product lines and services in the field.
- Submit field service reports, calibration certifications, timesheets and expenses on time.
- Ability to carry loads up to 50 lbs and work both independently and in a team.
