Job summary

The George E. Booth Co. in Morristown, Indiana is seeking a full-time Instrumentation and Controls Technician to support process instrumentation, PLC/DCS systems, and control software.

Qualifications

• Technical certificate or associate degree required or equivalent experience.
• Four to five years of work experience in a similar technical capacity.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with industrial automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine calibration of process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automated instrumentation systems (PLCs, DCS, analyzers).
• Maintain calibration records and documentation per regulatory and company standards.
• Conduct loop checks and verify system integration with automation systems.
• Assist with commissioning of new instruments and systems.
• Diagnose and repair instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
• Work from P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers, electricians, and operations staff for system reliability and performance.
• Participate in preventive maintenance and continuous improvement programs.
