Job summary

Kodiak Gas Services is seeking an intermediate level Field Technician to operate compressor packages, gas processes and rental equipment. You will troubleshoot repairs, support policy development, and backfill other field roles as needed.

Responsibilities include direct operation, ensuring high mechanical availability, and maintaining strong customer relationships. Candidates should have 3+ years in compression/production, and be prepared for 24/7 on-call work in a demanding field environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• SSE program completion or trade school preferred.
• 2+ years in related field; 1-2 years in entry level field technician role encouraged.
• 3+ years compression, production, and equipment experience.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills are required.
• Advanced knowledge of compressor packages (Waukesha, Ariel, Caterpillar).
• Strong teamwork, communication, analytics, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Directs, coordinates, and performs job activities per Kodiak procedures and goals.
• Troubleshoot complex repairs and major equipment overhauls and operation.
• Builds and maintains customer relationships.
• Analyzes parts and inventory; coordinates with Supply Chain for adequate stock.
• Maintain 98%+ mechanical availability of equipment.
• Attend and participate in HSE meetings and follow protocols.
• Provide 24/7 coverage and participate in on-call rotations.
• Complete required reports per area procedures.
