Job summary

Qualifications

  • Technical school certificate or equivalent mechanical repair experience preferred.
  • 1–2+ years of mechanical repair and troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a personal set of tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% annually.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Field Service Technician to safely and effectively diagnose, repair, maintain, and modify machine components, drilling equipment, and related machinery in both shop and field environments.

The ideal candidate is personable, reliable, ethical, adaptable, and safety-focused, with strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. The technician must be comfortable working independently with minimal direct supervision and traveling extensively to customer locations.

Key Responsibilities
Equipment Repair & Maintenance
  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and modify various makes of drilling equipment and machinery.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting in shop and field environments.
  • Plan the appropriate methods and sequence for assigned activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Ensure equipment meets required cosmetic and quality standards upon completion.
  • Return unused parts and materials according to company guidelines.
Technical Documentation
  • Read and interpret operating manuals, parts manuals, and mechanical schematics.
  • Prepare accurate daily records and documentation of work performed.
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and compliant service records.
Tools, Equipment & Operations
  • Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment, vehicles, and personal tools.
  • Maintain a personal set of required tools.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Respond to customer service needs with flexibility and minimal notice.
Customer & Team Relations
  • Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, coworkers, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong employee and customer relationships.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional team environment.
Travel & Availability
  • Travel up to 80% annually.
  • Respond to customer and company needs on short notice.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Have or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
Safety / Health / Environmental Responsibilities
  • Perform all work in compliance with applicable safety standards.
  • Conduct appropriate risk assessments for work activities.
  • Promote safe work practices in shop and field environments.
  • Ensure job sites are safe and tools/equipment are maintained in satisfactory working condition.
  • Participate in pre-job safety planning and Toolbox Talks.
  • Follow all applicable environmental, health, and safety requirements.
